Welcome to the School of the Soldier and Company, Instruction for Skirmishers and School of the Battalion. This section will contain many maneuvers, as described in Hardee’s Rifle and Light Infantry Tactics, animated with Flash. I’ve tried to animate as accurately as possible, but I’m not perfect. If you see anything that is not correct, please let me know and what needs to be done to correct it. This is a work in progress, so please be patient.

I have received a lot of feedback regarding the animations and I greatly appreciate your comments. Wherever possible, I have incorporated your suggestions and corrected the animations. I have also received feedback from some who say the animations are not detailed enough or don’t exactly follow the movements. Please realize that these are a training aid, not a training substitution. I have purposely left the details to the instructing officers to relay to their men. These animations are here to give you a general idea of the maneuvers, NOT to replace actual training.

Please feel free to link to this site and to tell your pards about it. I do request, however, that you do not download these animations to place on your website, for that would be a copyright violation. Thanks for understanding.
